Viral Tiktok Hot Honey Beef Bowl
Apparently I was ahead of a trend for once, because I’ve been making this delicious, CRAZY easy Tiktok-obsessed hot honey beef bowl (minus the honey) at least once a week for over a year.

One of my go-to easy meals is ground beef, cottage cheese, some kind of roasted veggie, and avocado, often with a sprinkling of cheese. Because I always have cooked ground beef in my fridge, this is a healthy, super fast, high-protein dish I rely on.
But the addition of the hot honey really elevates it, giving a delicious “sweet and savory” twist!

You can make it in its purest form (like the recipe I’ll share below), but I like to cram mine with a bit extra, including some salty crumbled feta and roasted cauliflower or sauteed zucchini.

The amounts I suggest in the recipe are just a starting place, and you can adjust them based on your personal preference. I like mine extra protein-y, so heavy on the beef in particular.

You can use just plain, salted beef if you prefer, but a little bit of taco seasoning and tomato paste makes it extra yummy, and pairs perfectly with the cinnamon on the sweet potatoes and the honey drizzle. I make my own taco seasoning in bulk, to avoid all the weird preservatives and anti-caking agents in store-bought.

Viral Tiktok Hot Honey Beef Bowls
This super easy, delicious hot honey beef bowl recipe needs to go in your weekly dinner rotation (or healthy "throw together" lunch repertoire)! It's got a perfect balance of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbs, and is component-based so you can easily whip up the individual pieces. The recipe below is flexible and should feed two people, or one very hungry one, and can be increased if necessary. The exact proportions can also be adjusted based on your personal taste preferences.
Ingredients
- 1 medium sweet potato, diced (don't peel it)
- Olive oil
- 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 2/3 lb of ground beef (I cook 1 lb with leftovers)
- 1-2 tablespoons of taco seasoning
- 1/2 tablespoon of tomato paste
- 1/2 cup of cottage cheese
- 1 avocado, cubed
- 3 tablespoons of hot honey (to taste)
- Optional: roasted cauliflower florets, feta cheese crumbles, etc.
Instructions
- Toss the diced sweet potatoes in the oil and season with the salt, cinnamon, and paprika. Air fry, in a single layer, at 400°F for 8-12 minutes, or until golden and cooked through, shaking halfway.
- While the sweet potatoes are cooking, cook the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Break up the ground beef and stir in the tomato paste. Sprinkle on the taco seasoning. Continue to cook, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Set aside.
- To assemble the bowls, divide the sweet potatoes and ground beef evenly between four bowls. Top each bowl with cottage cheese and avocados (and the roasted cauliflower and feta, if using). Sprinkle with a little more salt and drizzle generously with hot honey. Enjoy!
