OH HEYYYY! I’m Jessica, and welcome to my little corner of the internet…
Follow along on Instagram, Pinterest, & Facebook!
I started Finding Time for Cooking back in 2012 on a whim (and now it’s been a decade!). I’d been stuck in a cooking rut, basically rotating between three go-to recipes for months. At the same time, I’d joined Pinterest a couple months before and was pinning tons of recipes, but not actually making them. Which I realized was super dumb. So I made a decision to start trying out new recipes, and I actually started the blog solely in order to force myself to be accountable to a new recipe every week.
Fast forward several years, and it’s become a place where I share my newfound favorite recipes (and some old family secrets) with other people who love food. LOTS of different kinds of food. I have an all-consuming love for brussels sprouts and eat roasted okra by the pound. I’ve been known to eat nachos every night for dinner for months at a time. I also I have an entire drawer in my fridge dedicated to different kinds of chocolate chips, cinnamon chips, peanut butter chips…guests poking around in my fridge are often somewhat taken aback by the sheer volume. Few things rival my passion for food–whether it’s cooking, eating, trying new restaurants, taking pictures, or just talking about it.
Two of my biggest food struggles at my current stage in life are finding the time and energy to cook, and eating real, quality food. There is so much crap in our world, food-wise, and it takes a lot of effort to seek out good food. So I’m here to try and make that easier, make dinner get on the table faster, and find a new indulgence that we can all agree is just the BEST.
I grew up on a farm in rural Kansas but, having lived in Atlanta for over a decade and now based in Louisville, I now consider myself a Midwestern Southerner. I love sun, alone time, really good coffee, all the pastries, reading, my two ridiculous cats, and a good gin & tonic or Old Fashioned.
And I LOVE travel. I travel constantly, am an insatiable explorer of the world, and blog all about my experiences, trip planning tips, and more over at One Girl, Whole World, so feel free to check that out as well!

Hi there!
I am a Sabbath keeper who observes Passover and Unleavened Bread as well as the other Holy Days listed in the Bible. Since Unleavened Bread is coming up (tomorrow!) I was looking for a new almond bread recipe and came across yours. I made it this morning and it was delicious! I also printed out some more of your unleavened recipes. I’m looking forward to trying them! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Lacy! I’m so glad the recipes were helpful, and I hope you enjoy the others–I’m currently obsessed with the simple rosemary unleavened bread but trying other flavorings 🙂 I hope your spring holy days are inspiring!
