The Caribou cocktail is a cozy French-Canadian drink that's perfect to sip in winter or fall. This red wine or port and rye whiskey cocktail is super easy (no special equipment or techniques) and also super delicious!
A splash of maple syrupyou'll need a bit more if you use dry red wine
Optional: Amarena or bourbon cherries for garnish; an orange twist would be good too
Instructions
Stir the ingredients together in a mixing glass filled with ice, then strain into a rocks glass over ice.
Alternatively, you can mix it together directly in your rocks glass.
Notes
The amount of maple syrup will depend on your palate, and also whether you're using port or regular red wine. Use just a tiny bit at first, stir and taste, and adjust as desired.
