Grapefruit Cardamom Gin Cocktail

This delicious grapefruit cardamom gin cocktail is perfect any time of year, but especially in spring and as we slide from summer into fall. It's perfectly balanced and refreshing, with a hint of warmth from the cardamom syrup.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of good gin
  • 2 1/2 ounces of fresh-squeezed grapefruit juice could back off to 2
  • 1/2 to 1/2 ounce of cardamom simple syrup
  • 1 dash of Peychaud's Bitters
  • Garnish: grapefruit peel twist

Instructions

  • Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice and pour all the ingredients in (minus the garnish).
  • Shake for 15 seconds, then strain into a coupe glass.
  • Garnish with the grapefruit peel.

Notes

  1. You definitely want to use fresh grapefruit juice, not store-bought.
  2. If you don't have the bitters, don't worry...they add a little something but this cocktail is delicious without them.
